Your US clients pay a domestic invoice. You get paid at home.

When you’re a product designer outside the United States and your client is an American company, getting paid means crossing a border every time. PANORAMA payments lets you invoice through a US company that acts as merchant of record, so your client pays a domestic bill while you receive the money in your own country, in your own currency, after one platform fee is deducted.

What this looks like for you

For product designers outside the US, PANORAMA payments turns the way you already work into a payment setup that American clients accept without friction. Whether you bill monthly for ongoing design support, weekly for tracked hours, or a fixed price for a complete flow and design system, the invoice your client receives comes from a US company with a W-9 available. That keeps the engagement looking like a vendor relationship rather than employment, which is exactly what your client’s finance team needs. You deliver the work, the client pays a domestic bill, and you get the money at home after one fee.

An example line, not a real invoice. Your own wording, amounts and currency go on the document itself.

The money has to cross a border

You delivered the research findings, the designed flow shipped with engineering, the design system. The work is done. Now the invoice has to make it from your desk to your client’s accounts payable, and that is where the friction starts.

Your client’s finance team sees an international vendor and starts asking questions. Do they need to withhold taxes? Is this an employment situation because the work is ongoing and you are embedded with the team? Those questions can delay payment and complicate your engagement.

How PANORAMA keeps the payment domestic

You register once and verify your identity. Then you describe the client and the work. PANORAMA issues the invoice from a US company, so your client pays by ACH or wire to a US bank in dollars. If they need a W-9, it is available on request.

The payer does not have to be American. PANORAMA accepts payment from clients in any country that is not under sanctions, and the invoice can be issued in eleven currencies including US dollars, euros, pounds sterling, Canadian dollars, Australian dollars and Swiss francs. The money is always received by the US company.

Billing as a product designer

You may be on a monthly retainer for continuing design support, billing tracked hours weekly or monthly, or working on a fixed price for a defined piece of work like a complete flow or a design system. Whatever your arrangement, the invoice line needs to reflect the deliverable nature of the work.

Because your engagement can look like employment to a finance team, the contract and the invoice have to say otherwise. PANORAMA gives you a domestic invoice from a US company, which helps keep the relationship clearly vendor to client.

You stay in charge of your own taxes

PANORAMA deducts one platform fee and pays you the remainder. There is no monthly subscription and nothing is charged before your client has paid.

You remain responsible for reporting this income and paying any taxes due in your own country. PANORAMA does not give tax advice and is not your employer. It is simply the rail that moves the money from your client to you.

How you get paid

  1. 1
    Register and verify once

An identity document and a photograph. It is done once, and it has to be finished before the first payout rather than on the day you are waiting for money.

  2. 2
Describe the client and the work

Who they are, what was agreed, the amount and the currency. The client and their country are screened before anything is sent, so a payment is not refused after the work is delivered.

  3. 3
The invoice goes out from a US company

Your client receives an invoice from a United States supplier, with US banking details and IRS Form W-9 on request. They pay by ACH or wire, domestically.

  4. 4
You are paid where you live

One platform fee is deducted and the rest is sent to you by whichever route works in your country: bank transfer, SWIFT, SEPA, Wise, a local account, or dollar-denominated digital assets.

One platform fee of 10% is deducted when you are paid. No subscription, no signup fee, and nothing is charged until your client has paid.

Questions people in this trade ask

Do US clients accept a foreign contractor's invoice?

Often not without extra paperwork and delays. PANORAMA solves that by having a US company issue the invoice. Your client pays a domestic bill by ACH or wire in dollars, with a W-9 available on request, so their accounts payable process stays standard.

How does PANORAMA prevent my client from classifying me as an employee?

The invoice from a US company as a vendor helps establish a contractor relationship. For product designers, the work is often ongoing and embedded, so it is important that your contract and invoice specify deliverables. PANORAMA provides the domestic vendor framework, but you and your client still define the terms of the engagement.

Can I invoice in a currency other than US dollars?

Yes. The invoice can be issued in eleven currencies, including US dollars, euros, pounds sterling, Canadian dollars, Australian dollars and Swiss francs. However, the money is always received by the US company. Then PANORAMA pays you in your own country, in your local currency or in dollar denominated digital assets, depending on what is available where you live.

What happens with my taxes when I use PANORAMA?

PANORAMA deducts one platform fee and pays you the remainder. You are responsible for reporting that income and paying any taxes due in your own country. PANORAMA does not provide tax advice and is not your employer. The platform only handles the movement of funds after your client pays.

How do I get paid if I'm in a country with limited banking?

PANORAMA can pay you via bank transfer, SWIFT, SEPA, Wise, a local account, or in dollar denominated digital assets, depending on your country. You will be able to choose the method that works for you after your client has paid and the platform fee has been deducted.
