The money has to cross a border
You delivered the research findings, the designed flow shipped with engineering, the design system. The work is done. Now the invoice has to make it from your desk to your client’s accounts payable, and that is where the friction starts.
Your client’s finance team sees an international vendor and starts asking questions. Do they need to withhold taxes? Is this an employment situation because the work is ongoing and you are embedded with the team? Those questions can delay payment and complicate your engagement.
How PANORAMA keeps the payment domestic
You register once and verify your identity. Then you describe the client and the work. PANORAMA issues the invoice from a US company, so your client pays by ACH or wire to a US bank in dollars. If they need a W-9, it is available on request.
The payer does not have to be American. PANORAMA accepts payment from clients in any country that is not under sanctions, and the invoice can be issued in eleven currencies including US dollars, euros, pounds sterling, Canadian dollars, Australian dollars and Swiss francs. The money is always received by the US company.
Billing as a product designer
You may be on a monthly retainer for continuing design support, billing tracked hours weekly or monthly, or working on a fixed price for a defined piece of work like a complete flow or a design system. Whatever your arrangement, the invoice line needs to reflect the deliverable nature of the work.
Because your engagement can look like employment to a finance team, the contract and the invoice have to say otherwise. PANORAMA gives you a domestic invoice from a US company, which helps keep the relationship clearly vendor to client.
You stay in charge of your own taxes
PANORAMA deducts one platform fee and pays you the remainder. There is no monthly subscription and nothing is charged before your client has paid.
You remain responsible for reporting this income and paying any taxes due in your own country. PANORAMA does not give tax advice and is not your employer. It is simply the rail that moves the money from your client to you.
