How interior designers bill US clients and get paid abroad

If you design interiors for clients in the United States, you can send them a US dollar invoice from a US company and get paid into your bank account in your own country. PANORAMA payments acts as the merchant of record, so your client pays a domestic US bill by ACH or wire. You keep working from your studio abroad, and the money arrives after a single platform fee is deducted.

How interior designers bill US clients and get paid abroad

What this looks like for you

You already know how to scope a room, specify finishes, and hand over a construction set. Where the project often slows down is not the design, but the payment from a private US client who has never wired money abroad. PANORAMA payments turns that into a domestic US bill. Your client pays a US company by ACH or wire in dollars, and you receive the money in your own bank account, in your own currency, after a single platform fee. No retainer, no subscription, nothing charged until your client pays. You stay focused on the drawings, not the transfer.

An example line, not a real invoice. Your own wording, amounts and currency go on the document itself.

How the work is sold

You already deliver a layout, a space plan, material and furniture specifications, visualisations, and drawings a contractor can build from. The client buys that work as a defined project, often in stages. Each stage ends with an invoice. Billing varies: fixed price for the whole job, fixed price split across stages, or tracked hours. Whatever the arrangement, the invoice has to cross a border, and that is where a domestic payment process helps.

When the client is a private person

Many interior design clients in the US are homeowners, not companies. A homeowner may never have sent a wire to a foreign bank. When your invoice arrives with an IBAN and SWIFT code, the payment can stall. The transfer stops because the process is unfamiliar and the bank asks questions. Even for company clients, accounts payable often prefers a domestic US vendor with ACH and W-9. PANORAMA payments removes that friction by putting a US company on the invoice.

A US invoice, issued for you

With PANORAMA payments, you register once and verify your identity. For each project, you describe the client and the work. The invoice is then issued by a US company. From the client's side, this is a domestic bill: they pay by ACH or wire to a US bank, in dollars or another supported currency. A W-9 is available on request. You don't need a US company or bank account. Your name stays on the invoice as the designer, but the payment is processed through a US entity.

Receiving payment in your country

After your client pays the US company, PANORAMA payments deducts a single platform fee and sends the rest to you. The payout method depends on your country: bank transfer, SWIFT, SEPA, Wise, a local account, or dollar-denominated digital assets. There is no subscription and no setup cost. You pay nothing until a client pays you. You remain responsible for your own taxes; PANORAMA payments does not give tax advice and is not your employer.

How you get paid

  1. 1
    Register and verify once

An identity document and a photograph. It is done once, and it has to be finished before the first payout rather than on the day you are waiting for money.

  2. 2
Describe the client and the work

Who they are, what was agreed, the amount and the currency. The client and their country are screened before anything is sent, so a payment is not refused after the work is delivered.

  3. 3
The invoice goes out from a US company

Your client receives an invoice from a United States supplier, with US banking details and IRS Form W-9 on request. They pay by ACH or wire, domestically.

  4. 4
You are paid where you live

One platform fee is deducted and the rest is sent to you by whichever route works in your country: bank transfer, SWIFT, SEPA, Wise, a local account, or dollar-denominated digital assets.

One platform fee of 10% is deducted when you are paid. No subscription, no signup fee, and nothing is charged until your client has paid.

Questions people in this trade ask

Can I invoice a private client in the US with this service?

Yes. Many interior designers work for private homeowners. When you use PANORAMA payments, the invoice is issued by a US company, so your client pays a domestic bill. They do not need to send an international wire. You describe the client and the work during registration, and the platform handles the rest.

Do I need a US bank account or company to get paid?

No. You do not need to form a US entity or open a US bank account. The US company acts as the merchant of record on the invoice. After your client pays, PANORAMA payments sends the money to you in your own country using a payout method that works where you live.

What about my taxes?

You remain responsible for your taxes in your own country. PANORAMA payments does not provide tax advice and is not your employer. The platform handles the payment mechanics only. You should consult a local tax professional for your specific situation.

Can my client pay in a currency other than US dollars?

Yes. The invoice can be issued in several currencies, including US dollars, euros, pounds sterling, Canadian and Australian dollars, and Swiss francs. The client pays in the currency on the invoice, and the US company receives the money. You are paid in your own currency or in dollar-denominated digital assets depending on your location.

How do I receive the money in my country?

After your client pays, PANORAMA payments deducts a single platform fee and sends the remaining amount to you. Payout methods include bank transfer, SWIFT, SEPA, Wise, a local account, or dollar-denominated digital assets, depending on your country. You choose what works best for you.
