Get paid for UX writing work from US clients, wherever you live

PANORAMA payments lets UX writers outside the US invoice American clients through a US company and get paid in their home country. Register, describe the work, we issue the invoice in US dollars. The client pays by ACH or wire to a US bank, we deduct one platform fee, and pay you locally by transfer, Wise, or digital assets.

What this looks like for you

As a UX writer, your work is often embedded in a product team, billed by tracked hours weekly or monthly, a fixed price, or a monthly retainer. That can look like staffing to accounts payable, raising questions about classification. PANORAMA payments issues invoices from a US company with a W-9 available, so your client's AP treats you as a normal vendor. You deliver interface copy, error and empty states, voice and tone guides, and content models, and get paid in your country without a US entity.

An example line, not a real invoice. Your own wording, amounts and currency go on the document itself.

From signup to payment, step by step

You begin by registering and verifying your identity once. Then you describe the client and the work: the company name, the project, and the billing terms you have agreed. You do not need a US entity or a US bank account.

PANORAMA payments prepares the invoice and issues it to your client from a US company, so their accounts payable sees a domestic vendor. The invoice is in the currency you choose, usually US dollars, and the client pays by ACH or wire to a US bank account.

When the payment clears, PANORAMA deducts the platform fee and sends the remaining amount to you in your country. Nothing is charged before the client has paid, and there is no monthly subscription.

What your client receives and pays

For the client, the process is entirely domestic. The invoice comes from a US company, so their normal payment workflow applies. They can pay by ACH or wire transfer in dollars, and if they need it for their records, a completed IRS Form W-9 is available on request. You do not have to provide a W-9 yourself or worry about foreign vendor forms.

The client does not have to be American: a company in Canada, the UK, or anywhere else not under sanctions can also pay through this system. The invoice can be issued in eleven currencies, including US dollars, euros, pounds sterling, Canadian and Australian dollars, and Swiss francs, so a client in Germany can be invoiced in euros and still pay the US company. Whoever the payer is, the money is received in the United States.

Getting paid where you live

After the client's payment clears, PANORAMA payments sends you the money minus one platform fee. The method depends on your country: bank transfer, SWIFT, SEPA, a local account, Wise, or dollar-denominated digital assets. You choose what works for you every time, and there is no subscription fee.

The platform fee is deducted once, from the client's payment, before the money reaches you. There are no hidden charges and no charge until your client has actually paid. Because the payment originates from a US company, some banks may ask for additional information, but the process is standard for cross-border payments.

You stay independent

You remain an independent professional, not an employee of PANORAMA payments or your client. PANORAMA payments does not give tax advice, and it is not your employer. You are responsible for reporting and paying your own taxes in the country where you live, just as you would with any other freelance income.

The paperwork you receive from PANORAMA payments reflects the total amount your client paid and the fee deducted, which you can use for your own records. Since the invoice is issued by a US company, your client might report the payment on a US tax form, but that is between them and their tax authority. For your own taxes, consult a local accountant if you need guidance.

How you get paid

  1. 1
    Register and verify once

An identity document and a photograph. It is done once, and it has to be finished before the first payout rather than on the day you are waiting for money.

  2. 2
Describe the client and the work

Who they are, what was agreed, the amount and the currency. The client and their country are screened before anything is sent, so a payment is not refused after the work is delivered.

  3. 3
The invoice goes out from a US company

Your client receives an invoice from a United States supplier, with US banking details and IRS Form W-9 on request. They pay by ACH or wire, domestically.

  4. 4
You are paid where you live

One platform fee is deducted and the rest is sent to you by whichever route works in your country: bank transfer, SWIFT, SEPA, Wise, a local account, or dollar-denominated digital assets.

One platform fee of 10% is deducted when you are paid. No subscription, no signup fee, and nothing is charged until your client has paid.

Questions people in this trade ask

Do I need a US business entity to invoice American clients?

No. PANORAMA payments acts as the merchant of record through a US company, so you register as an individual and verify your identity once. The invoice is issued by that US company, and your client pays a US bank account. You never need to form an LLC or open a US bank account.

Can my client pay by credit card or PayPal?

No. The client pays by ACH or wire transfer in US dollars to a US bank account. This is standard for business invoices and keeps everything domestic for their accounts payable department. The payment is received by the US company, which then sends your share to you.

How does the platform fee work?

PANORAMA payments deducts one platform fee from the client's payment before paying you. There is no monthly subscription and nothing is charged before the client has paid. The fee amount is shown on your dashboard before you issue an invoice, so you know exactly what you will receive. Payments to you in your local currency or digital assets may involve additional bank or network fees outside our control.

Will PANORAMA payments handle my taxes?

No. You remain responsible for reporting and paying your own taxes in your country of residence. PANORAMA payments does not provide tax advice and is not your employer. You will receive a record of the payments you received and the fee deducted, which you can use when filing your taxes. If you need guidance, consult a local tax professional.

What currencies can my client be invoiced in?

The invoice can be issued in eleven currencies, including US dollars, euros, pounds sterling, Canadian and Australian dollars, and Swiss francs. The currency is chosen when you create the invoice, and the client pays that amount to the US company. The money is received in the United States and then converted, if necessary, to send to you.
