Invoice US clients for cloud engineering from anywhere

What this looks like for you

For cloud engineers outside the US, PANORAMA payments makes it straightforward to bill American clients. Your engagements often involve large consulting fees for architecture design, cloud migrations, or security reviews. US finance teams can be reluctant to wire large amounts to a foreign bank, but when the invoice comes from a US company with a W-9 on request, the payment process becomes routine. You stay focused on the technical work, and we handle the cross-border payment flow.

The full sequence

You start by creating an account and verifying your identity a single time. This involves providing standard information and documentation, and it takes a few minutes. Once verified, you do not need to repeat the process for future invoices.

Next, you add the client and describe the work. For a cloud engineering engagement, this often means outlining the scope, the project timeline, and the billing arrangement, whether hourly or fixed price. You then request an invoice. PANORAMA issues the invoice from a United States company, and your client receives it with payment instructions.

The client pays by ACH or wire to a US bank account in dollars. After the payment is received, PANORAMA deducts one platform fee and transfers the remaining amount to you using the payout method you have chosen. There is no monthly subscription and nothing is charged before the client pays.

What your client receives

Your client sees an invoice from a United States company, which means their accounts payable process stays entirely domestic. They pay by ACH or wire to a US bank, and the amount is always in US dollars. On request, the client can receive a W-9 form, which many US companies require before processing payment to a contractor.

The client does not need to be an American company or individual; they can be based in any country that is not under sanctions. However, the invoice is always issued by the US company, so the client's payment goes to the US. The invoice can be issued in a range of currencies, including US dollars, euros, pounds sterling, and others, but the payment received by the US company is always in dollars. This keeps the client's payment process simple and predictable.

Getting paid in your country

Once the client's payment is in hand, PANORAMA transfers the money to you. The payout method depends on your country of residence. Options can include a bank transfer, SWIFT, SEPA, Wise, a local account, or dollar-denominated digital assets. You choose the method that is most convenient for you.

The platform fee is deducted from the client's payment before the money is sent to you. There is no other charge, no monthly subscription, and no fee before the client pays. The fee amount is shown to you before you request the invoice, so you know what you will receive. The transfer to you is made in the currency of your choice, as available in your country.

Your tax responsibilities

You remain responsible for your own taxes in your home country. PANORAMA payments does not provide tax advice, and it is not your employer. The payment you receive is the gross client payment minus the platform fee, and you should account for that income according to the rules where you live.

The fact that your client paid a US company does not change your tax status. You are still an independent contractor or business owner, and the income is foreign-earned in most cases. Consult a tax professional who understands cross-border arrangements if you have questions about how to report this income.

How you get paid

  1. 1
    Register and verify once

An identity document and a photograph. It is done once, and it has to be finished before the first payout rather than on the day you are waiting for money.

  2. 2
Describe the client and the work

Who they are, what was agreed, the amount and the currency. The client and their country are screened before anything is sent, so a payment is not refused after the work is delivered.

  3. 3
The invoice goes out from a US company

Your client receives an invoice from a United States supplier, with US banking details and IRS Form W-9 on request. They pay by ACH or wire, domestically.

  4. 4
You are paid where you live

One platform fee is deducted and the rest is sent to you by whichever route works in your country: bank transfer, SWIFT, SEPA, Wise, a local account, or dollar-denominated digital assets.

One platform fee of 10% is deducted when you are paid. No subscription, no signup fee, and nothing is charged until your client has paid.

Questions people in this trade ask

Do I need a US bank account to get paid?

No, you do not need a US bank account. PANORAMA receives the client's payment in a US bank, then transfers the money to you in your own country using a method such as bank transfer, Wise, SEPA, or digital assets, depending on where you live.

Can my client pay with a credit card or PayPal?

No, client payments are made by ACH or wire to a US bank account. This keeps the process domestic and straightforward for US finance teams, and it avoids the high fees and chargeback risks associated with card payments.

Will my client get a W-9 form?

Yes, a W-9 form is available on request. Since the invoice comes from a US company, your client may need a W-9 to process the payment through their accounts payable system. PANORAMA provides it to help keep the payment domestic.

How is the platform fee calculated?

A single platform fee is deducted from the client's payment before the money is sent to you. The fee amount is shown before you request the invoice, so you know exactly what you will receive. There is no monthly subscription and no additional charge.

What if my client is not in the United States?

Your client can be in any country that is not under sanctions. The invoice is still issued by a US company, and the payment is received by that company in the US. The client can pay in one of several currencies, but the US company always receives dollars.
