How data science work is bought and sold
You deliver an analysis with a recommendation, a forecasting model, an experiment design, or a notebook and summary a director can read. US marketing and finance teams, health and insurance companies, and consultancies buy this work. Billing is usually tracked hours, a fixed price, or a monthly retainer.
The money question sits inside that delivery. Your work is bought by a department, not engineering, so payment goes through procurement. That team prefers a domestic vendor. An international wire can slow things down, but a US company invoice goes through the normal process.
Invoicing a US client from outside the country
Register with PANORAMA payments and verify your identity once. Describe the client and the work, and the invoice is issued by a US company. The client pays by ACH or wire transfer, in dollars, to a US bank. A W-9 form is available if their finance team requests it.
The client can be in any non-sanctioned country, and the invoice can be issued in eleven currencies including US dollars, euros, pounds, Canadian and Australian dollars, and Swiss francs. The payer may be a company or an individual, and the money is always received by the US company.
Receiving payment in your home country
After the client pays, PANORAMA deducts one platform fee and sends the rest to you. You can receive it by bank transfer, SWIFT, SEPA, Wise, a local account, or digital assets, depending on your country. There is no monthly fee and nothing is charged before the client pays.
The platform fee is the only deduction, and it appears on your payment summary. You do not need to manage currency conversion or chase the client for payment status. The money arrives in your home currency or asset, whichever you chose.
Your tax obligations stay with you
PANORAMA payments is not your employer and does not give tax advice. You are responsible for your own taxes at home. The US company does not withhold tax on your behalf unless required by law or treaty.
Keep your invoice and payment records for your own reporting. The platform provides a downloadable transaction history. For tax questions, consult a local professional.
